173 • A Silver-Inlaid Miniature Bronze Image of Prajnaparamita

Swat Valley, 5th–6th century AD
Size: 5 cm high

Seated on a rectangular lotus base, she holds a sutra in her lap, like her close relation in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. Her jewellery is inlaid in silver, and she has two pigtails down her back.
